Parenting can be a challenge.
That’s why at Crossroads we are committed to partnering the church with families to have the greatest impact on children and students. Listed below are some tools which may help you in the journey and responsibility of parenting. Because one hundred years from now, nothing will matter more than your children's relationship with God.

Most parents are aware of the negative influences their children encounter on a daily basis. The Internet, television, movies, music and the culture at large can bombard our families with a vast array of images and messages that range from unhealthy to downright dangerous. Many parents, while fearful of the dangers, are ill-equipped to deal with the problem, often choosing to ignore it and hope for the best. Focus on the Family's family safety resources are intended to equip families with the tools to combat these threats. Links to various Focus on the Family Resources and other resources for parents are listed below.

PARENTING BEYOND YOUR CAPACITY by R. Joiner
Engage your family in a bigger story, a story that involves more than just your family - one that involves other influences who are on a journey to discover why a relationship with God really matters. We want to encourage you to establish a lifestyle as a parent in which you...Invite others to invest in your children so your sons and daughters have other voices that will help shape and determine the direction of their lives. Create a culture of unconditional love to fuel the emotional and moral health of your children. Tap into the power of quality moments together, building a sense of purpose through everyday experiences. This isn't a self-help book. It's a get-help book. It's about how you can increase your parenting capacity by connecting with available resources, some of which you know about and some you might not.
DISCONNECTED by Chap & Dee Clark
"It is an obvious fact that parents and children see life differently. Parents and children often assume that the way they view and experience the world is the only way to see and experience the world. This presents a series of relational challenges on its own, but even more important for the parent to consider is that, regardless of how they see the life and world of their kid, the way the child sees their life and world, in all aspects--relational, social, ethical--is what matters most as they grow up."
THE SEVEN CHECKPOINTS by Andy Stanley & Stewart Hall
The challenges facing our youth grow every year. Quick fixes and short-term programs will not provide the life-strengthening results needed for the teens of today. This revolutionary approach promises and delivers what is needed in the world of students around the country today. Seven spiritual principals no student should be without.

VIRTUE PACKS are designed to help equip parents with easy to use tools to make the most of everyday moments with their elementary age children. This tool is based on the biblical model that teaches that the home should be the primary place where a child learns about God.
“Impress them upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up,” (Deuteronomy 6:7).
Virtue Packs provide activities to be used once a week during each of these four family times--MealTime, DriveTime, BedTime, and MorningTime. All of this is designed to give parents simple ways to help their kids grow in faith and character.
PARENT LINK LIVE

Each month a parenting message is available for download on the parent page under children's ministry. ParentLink Live helps parents and church leaders understand how, by combining their influences, they can accomplish more for the spiritual well being of a child than either could individually.
