Year you began attending Crossroads: 2011
Growing up, I would say I was a church girl. From the earliest time I can remember, I was “involved” with church: I played on the hand-bell choir, was President of our Youth Fellowship and later served as a deacon. And while I knew about Jesus, I can’t honestly say I knew Him. That is, until 9-11-2001.
The next day I called our church to see if we were having a service, which we were not. Later that night, while on my way to the store, I drove by a church called House on the Rock. There wasn’t one empty parking space in the lot. I soon found myself walking through their doors. It was there that I was introduced to Jesus in a real and personal way. I would like to say I was immediately changed…but I was not. I had asked Jesus into my life but didn’t understand what it meant to give my life to Him.
Thankfully, that has changed -- and continues to change each day as I grow and mature in Him. I can honestly say that I am a new creation. You see, I’m no longer just a church girl…I’m now a Jesus girl!
