PLAN YOUR VISIT

Going to a new church is not always easy.  So, here are some steps for you to make your first visit to Crossroads a pleasant one!

1. RELAX » Make yourself at home!  Come as you are!  You can dress up or dress down. Be yourself!  Grab some coffee and/or a donut at our coffee bar.  Feel free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

2. DROP OFF THE KIDS » We provide safe, exciting, age-appropriate experiences for your children (infant through 5th grade).  Sign them in at the Children’s Registration area in the gym.  The greeters can help direct you at the front doors.

3. FILL OUT THE CARD » When you enter the worship center, you will receive a program.  Please fill out the response card and place it in the offering bucket during the worship service.  This will help get you connected!  If you are a first time guest, exchange your filled out card for a FREE First Time Guest GIFT at the Welcome Desk!

4. ATTEND OUR NEWCOMER'S DINNER » Once a month on Tuesday evenings we provide newcomers an opportunity to meet the Crossroads staff at an informal dinner setting.  You will be given an opportunity to hear from each of our pastors and will also be given a tour of our facilities.

OUR VISION

To be a church that helps people find Jesus and move toward a thriving faith.

Nazarene Header.jpg

Who are the Nazarenes?

Jesus was called a Nazarene because his boyhood home was in the town of Nazareth. The followers of Jesus were called Nazarenes and the Apostle Paul, on trial for his life, was accused of being the ringleader of the sect of the Nazarene.  Of course, Jesus did not found any denomination, but because we bear His name it is held in deep respect by us who are members of the Church of the Nazarene. The supreme desire of all Christians should be to be like Jesus. His teachings form the basis of our doctrine, and His life, our example.

The Church of the Nazarene has spread the good news about Jesus for over a century, and we are known for seeking social justice for those in need, being a center of spiritual growth and transformation for countless communities, and being a place where those called to ministry can find training and support.  With over 28,000 congregations in 159 world areas, our vision and mission embraces the globe.  Crossroads is one of those congregations, and we invite you to learn more about what makes the Church of the Nazarene unique.

Lynn Brooks - Children's Pastor A southern girl from Kentucky, Lynn Brooks joined the Crossroads staff in May of 2017. She, along with Jay, her husband and best friend, oversee Children's and Family Ministries. These high school sweethearts hit the ground running in building their own family, and have over 25 years of marriage and ministry experience as church planters, worship leaders, youth and children's leaders. Lovers of kids, it's no surprise they have a tribe of their own; Lauren, Aaron, Rebekah, Alex, and Ella, a son-in-love-Michael, and a grandbaby named Cody, who has recently hijacked their hearts. In their spare time, Lynn and Jay can be found hacking (knocking down) walls, ripping out old flooring, and experiencing the other endless joys of renovating to their home in the Catonsville area. Like their house, their lives have been a fixer upper story from the start, which is why they are passionate about seeing the hearts and lives of other families reclaimed, restored, and released into their unique Kingdom purpose. Nan Jefferies - Pastor of Congregational Care Nan and her husband Dan arrived at Crossroads in the summer of 2011 and knew right away that the Nazarene church would be their home. Nan received her Nazarene Ministers District License in April 2018 and serves at Crossroads with Pastoral Care and Discipleship. She loves praying with and for people and their needs and walking alongside others on their journey with Christ. This includes visitation in homes and hospitals and mentoring young moms at Crossroads “MOPS” program. Married for 30+ years, they have served in a wide variety of ministries throughout their married life. Dan and Nan have also seen God’s grace in healing their own lives and marriage, which gives them both a passion for marriage ministry. They especially desire to see husbands and wives deepen their love for God and each other with a servanthood mindset. They call this “discipleship in the context of Christian marriage.” Loving on their 4 grown children and their families, including 4 grandchildren, working on the “Jefferies Palace,” gardening, and being out in nature makes for some pretty good downtime.
